Raise healthy, resilient kids with support from Y Child Care

Our Child Care centres are a home away from home- an inclusive community where kids can have fun, find support, make friends and reach their full potential. There's no job more important in the world than being a parent. But when it's not your only job, our YMCA Child Care programs are here for your family.

Critical learning takes place in the first six years of a child’s life– that requires a nurturing and caring environment. Our Child Care programs focus on high quality, safety, and affordability, providing an environment that helps kids feel at home, learning and growing in a welcoming, safe and stimulating atmosphere.

What sets YMCA Child Care apart

Highly-trained ECE’s

All child care team members receive ongoing professional development which is key to ensuring the highest quality of care while utilizing our Playing to Learn™ Curriculum.

Safety

Our advanced Child Protection Policy, implemented throughout our organization, ensures we are consistently safeguarding the welfare of children in our care, and in all YMCA programs and services.

Y Financial Support

As a charity, we are able to offer YMCA Financial Assistance above and beyond government subsidy, thanks to generous donors. The Y believes no family should be turned away from quality child care because of an inability to pay.

The Y is a charity

As a charity, all our revenue is reinvested back into our community through YMCA health programs, child care centres, community initiatives, and programs designed to strengthen our community and build healthy families.

Learn more about our charitable impact

Our 3–5 Years programs follow a child to staff ratio of 1:8, and our Infant and Toddler program follows a child to staff ratio of 1:4. Babies are provided with individual, customized schedules for feeding and napping. Children spend time outside each day and are provided with healthy snacks.

Children belong, grow, thrive and lead in YMCA Child Care—that makes for confident kids today and contributing, engaged adults in the future. We believe strengthening our community starts with helping kids reach their potential.

As a charity, we work hard to ensure quality affordable care is accessible to all and make no profit from any of our Child Care programs.
