Do you have questions? We have answers! Can't find your question here? Please contact us and we will get back to you shortly.

The Kelowna Downtown YMCA is situated on the corner of Ellis and Doyle on the main floor of the Interior Health building, the Kelowna Community Health and Services Centre.

Parking on the street is free after 5 p.m. and all day on Sundays and statutory holidays for 3,050 parking stalls. There are also 30 parking lots and 2 parkades in the downtown area where parking is free after 6 p.m., all day on weekends and statutory holidays (except during Special Events).

We are able to offer full reciprocity between the Kelowna Family YMCA and the Downtown YMCA. All members of these facilities will be able to access the other facility at any time.

Kelowna Downtown YMCA members will receive 25% off at the H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre drop-in fee. H2O is owned by the City of Kelowna and only operated by the YMCA of Southern Interior BC so, due to our current operating agreement, we cannot offer full reciprocity at this time.

If you have a membership with the Downtown Y, you will have the opportunity to purchase a membership for your child at the Kelowna Family YMCA or H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre at a lower rate; giving them access to swim lessons and other programs.

Locating the YMCA within Interior Health’s Community Health and Services Centre will offer clients health and fitness resources to assist in their transition out of the health care system. The YMCA’s unique, evidence-based approach builds the self-management skills and ongoing support systems necessary for people to continue along their health journey in a positive direction. Being based in the IHA building helps us to reach people who are accessing their services with the hopes for an easier transition to community programs.

No, the Kelowna Downtown YMCA is open to everyone! As a cause-driven charity with a mission dedicated to building healthy individuals and communities, the YMCA provides a wide range of programs and services with a focus on inclusiveness and accessibility, serving people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities through all stages of life. From cardiac rehabilitation, to triathletes, to those looking to get started, everyone is welcome.

The Kelowna Downtown YMCA is a 7,500 sq. ft. fitness centre and offers exciting amenities to the downtown core including a full suite of cardio and strength equipment, functional fitness areas, an 800 sq. ft. group fitness studio, a small dedicated cycle studio, and a multi-purpose room for meetings and educational health programming.

We offer a variety of group fitness programs offered including cycle, strength, bootcamp and yoga. See the group fitness schedule for days and times.

The benefits of membership remain consistent with the other YMCA facilities offering a number of value-added features including:

  • No joiner fees or locked-in contracts
  • Unlimited access to modern, state-of-the-art fitness facilities
  • A wide array of engaging group fitness classes for all ages and abilities
  • Ongoing one-on-one, evidence-based personal coaching proven to help you stick with exercise long-term
  • Specialty health programs (cardiac, hip and knee, COPD, fall prevention and more) recognized by Interior Health and supervised by Certified Exercise Physiologists
  • Access to the Kelowna Family YMCA and to YMCAs in other cities across Canada
  • 25% off the H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre drop-in fee
  • Complimentary day-use lockers and showers

The Downtown Kelowna YMCA is a block away from the Queensway Transit Exchange.

Currently, there are no programs for children at the Kelowna Downtown YMCA.

If you have a membership with the Downtown Y, you will have the opportunity to purchase a membership for your child at the Kelowna Family YMCA or H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre at a lower rate; giving them access to swim lessons and other programs.

Not a problem. Just visit member services when you're ready and we will make sure to have your membership transferred to the centre that fits your needs best.
