This project, in partnership with Central Okanagan Public Schools, offers 81 licensed child care spaces for children 0–12 years old including infant toddler care, 3–5 care, preschool, before and after school care and summer camp, serving up to a total of 140 children annually. With an urgent need for child care throughout the Okanagan Valley, these additional child care spaces allow for more families in Kelowna to access quality care for their young ones.

We are proud to announce this centre is officially a $10 a Day ChildCareBC Centre. These sites test and evaluate funding and operational models that will help move British Columbia towards a universal child care system.

Camps

Our licensed YMCA Child Care camps are a home away from home. Your child can be a part of our inclusive community where they can have fun, find support, make friends and reach their full potential.

The Y’s approach to child care is unique. We believe that ensuring a sound basis for healthy child development and success begins with play, and our child care programs give children exactly that — space to run, dance, jump and explore.

As western Canada’s largest licensed child care provider, the YMCA has been building and operating high-quality child care spaces for decades. Every program provides children with the opportunity to be active, make friends, have fun and develop confidence.

The health and safety of kids in our care is our top priority. All staff are trained in YMCA Child Protection standards that far surpass licensing regulations.

What makes the Y truly stand out is that we are a charity that believes financial circumstances shouldn't stand in the way of receiving quality care for your child. As a charity, the YMCA of Southern Interior BC has always provided financial assistance to those in need. In addition, with new government supports in place, child care is becoming more affordable.

At the YMCA, we are helping BC parents raise healthy, resilient children.
